About as long it takes you to get to the nearest bar.

I would think that the assistants or the Dentist that placed the implant would have given you information about that. I would think that you should not drink until the entire process is over. I think that it takes about 6 months to fully heal from an implant, so I would wait that long. You can always call the Dr. that placed it and ask him/her because I am sure that that is not what you wanted to hear. That’s just me, if you drink it will thin your blood and my cause it to take longer to heal. That is an expensive procedure to not do the right thing.

I would take it easy for a couple weeks. You don’t need to wait until the whole process is over, but you shouldn’t drink to much until the surgical site is healed. Once the gums close up, the implant is pretty much safe from infection, which is the #1 cause of failures. If you want to have one or two beers, you’ll probably be OK, but I might not chance it this week. Definitely no binge drinking (bad in general, but really bad with a surgical wound still healing).

YOU SHOULD NOT DRINK FOR LIFE!!!

ALCOHOL AFFECTS THE HEALING AND THE QUALITY OF BONE POST OP. YOUR IMPLANT WILL FAIL….

YOU NEED TO STAY SOBER FOR LIFE
